Events
Our students participate in school programs, athletic teams, holiday celebrations, clubs, school spirit events, weekend activities, and trips to area attractions. They join their efforts to produce scholastic fairs, a talent show, the end of the year Horse Show, and shop and art displays. Through the challenges of directed group living in our culture, LKS students learn to define themselves as socially successful individuals.
Student & Staff Respect AwardThe Student & Staff Respect Award is earned by the student/staff who best embodies the following definition of respect for a period of one week. Respect, in terms of this award, focuses on demonstrated high regard and honor for another person including: self and community, life and nature, parents and elders, beliefs and rights of others, property, caring about how others feel, and courtesy toward others. |
Community ChampionTheCommunity Champion Award is earned by the student, who supports others by including them in activities, engaging in positive conversations with peers, being a mentor, never teasing or putting others down, speaks up for those who are being bullied, telling staff when he sees other students who are being bullied, being a team player, asking others to join activities, and saying something to make a peer happy. |
